What Is Laminated Glass?
US Glass Tempering’s laminated glass is engineered for strength, safety, and sound control. It’s produced by bonding two or more layers of glass with a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer using heat and pressure. This creates a single, unified piece that remains intact even when broken — providing superior protection against breakage, penetration, and fallout.
Laminated glass can combine various glass types including annealed, tempered, tinted, coated, mirrored, or patterned glass, offering endless versatility in both form and function.
Applications
Our laminated glass is used across industries and environments:
- Overhead glazing and skylights
- Railings, stair treads, and walkways
- Storefronts, partitions, and glass walls
- Security, detention, and blast-resistant systems
- Aquariums, sports facilities, and architectural installations
Where safety, performance, and visual impact matter — US Glass Tempering laminated glass delivers.
Interlayer Options
We customize PVB interlayer thickness based on your performance needs:
- 0.030″ — 1 Interlayer
- 0.060″ — 2 Interlayers
- 0.090″ — 3 Interlayers
For heat-treated laminated glass, a minimum of two interlayers are used to ensure optimal strength and stability — resulting in a slightly thicker profile than standard annealed laminated products.
